Easy, Effective, and Inexpensive Beauty Tips

1. Natural masks. There are many elements in nature that can help give your skin the healthy look you want. Some of those items may already be in your kitchen or garden! If you want healthy, glowing skin, here are some ideas for making natural facial masks:

  • To exfoliate your facial skin, make a serving of regular oatmeal (not instant), let it cool, and then apply it to your face.  Leave it on for about 30 minutes.  You will feel instant results when you rinse it.
  • To tighten your pores, crack some eggs and discard the yolks.  Next whisk the egg whites and put on your face for about 30-45 minutes.  Your skin will feel tighter and weekly use of this egg mask will help your skin look young and healthy.
  • Raw Aloe Vera is our third suggested mask that you can make at home.  You rub the gel all over your face and let on for about 30 minutes.  A great benefit of Aloe Vera is that it helps remove blemishes and other skin impurities.

2. Daily facial wash.  Make it from 1/2-cup cold milk (yogurt if your skin is dry), 1 tablespoon of salt, and 2 tablespoons of witch hazel.  This formula helps moisturize and cleanse your face of bacteria, grease, and impurities.

3. At-home facials.  It is relaxing and feels good to give yourself an at-home facial.  You can apply a warm washcloth to your face a few mornings each week to open your pores and help prevent oil blocking from blocking pores.

4. Clean towels, wash cloths and pillow cases. Clean hygiene has a direct effect on your skin and how healthy your facial skin will be.  You want to keep bacteria and germs away from your face.

  • Change your pillowcases twice per week.
  • Ensure your face is cleansed with a facial wash before drying with the face towel.
  • Change the face towels at least twice a week.
